RPG - iSeries Developer (Senior) - Remote
This position will work directly with IT Project Teams to apply information systems technology solutions in support of identified business problems and provide direction and technical leadership for financial system improvements. This position will be responsible for monitoring financial systems, interfacing with business owners, triaging issues, and setting future direction for financial systems according to strategic roadmap. This position must work under limited supervision.
  • Provides on-going support of development tools and related technology. Responsible for installation, configuration and problem resolution. Serves as primary contact with vendors during problem resolution and plans and performs periodic upgrades to new releases.
  • Ensures that work requests and reported problems are handled in a professional, organized and timely manner.
  • Provides management with periodic formal and informal reports on the status of projects and problems.
  • Provides development expertise in the design, development, coding, unit testing and debugging of new software or significant enhancements for existing software.
  • Defines development tasks, assigns tasks to development team, and monitors and reports status of development tasks.
  • Helping to manage development solutions from Development to QA and Production, using internal development standards and adhering to the SDLC. Ensuring high productivity of team and quality of code.
  • Managing root cause analysis for technical issues.
  • Collaborate in Requirement and Design sessions to finalize the development/project timelines.
  • Develop project estimates to support new or existing projects.
  • Implement actions to enhance software development processes and minimize unfavorable work variances.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Undertake complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge in software development and provides expertise at top technical levels in particular business processes.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams within the organization.
  • Assist with tracking and managing defects (Reliability process)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Business, MIS, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience developing code on iSeries system using RPG, RPGLE, RPG Free, and CLP.
  • Experience supporting JD Edwards World Application.
  • 5+ years' experience in healthcare industry or related field preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills required.
  • Data analysis experience and skills preferred.
  • Ability to work closely with all levels of the organization and to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients and other departments
  • Experience using SQL on iSeries and Oracle.
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts.
