IT Help Desk and Field Support

We are looking for a reliable, hard-working, self-starting individual to add to our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an EXPERIENCED support specialist who is looking for an active role in a growing technology consulting firm.

AVID PRACTICE is a technology consulting firm that works with all aspects of information technology, from basic Workstation and client side applications to application Servers and high-end infrastructure implementations. Our clients rely on our expertise and high level of support to maintain and grow their businesses.

This individual will deal with incoming issues and escalate issues to next level engineers and management as necessary, and will be able to follow complicated issues through to completion. This individual will handle onsite and remote service requests, and will be an integral member of our team. The individual that fills this position will be very visible in the client relationship hierarchy, and not only possess the technical acumen necessary to resolve client issues, but also possess a congenial and patient temperament as an important part of our firm's customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise small and medium businesses about technology decisions.
  • Use remote monitoring and management platform to provide support to customer base
  • OS troubleshooting from basic break-fix to disaster recovery of non-booting systems, including being able to restore all drivers to a newly reloaded system
  • Advanced MS Office and Office 365 use, customization, configuration, and troubleshooting (specifically Outlook 2010, 2013, and 2016)
  • SharePoint configuration and management
  • Cloud Platforms such as Microsoft Azure
  • Spy/Malware and Virus disinfection - the candidate should be able to describe a methodical, organized, effective methodology of containing and eradicating malware in single and groups of systems
  • Basic understanding of server operating systems
  • Basic understanding of networking infrastructure
  • Data protection and simple file restoration from backup systems
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms (Hyper-V)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Terminal Server and Clients
  • Network and device security
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems
  • Exposure to expertise in automation, surveillance, and audio/video systems
  • Digital Signage
  • Customer Service

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience working in a help desk type of position
  • After hours support rotation in a technical support group
  • Network+, Microsoft Certifications, CCNA/CCNP/CCDA certifications highly desired
  • Industry certifications from manufacturer/vendors such as Microsoft, Dell, IBM, HP, and Cisco highly desired
  • MCP, CompTIA Security+, and ITIL V3 Foundations highly desired
  • Full Stack Development
  • Programming Languages, HTML, CSS, API Integrations

Hours: Full time, on call some evenings and weekends

Starting Salary between 50,000-62,500
